Peter obtained a degree in Peace Studies at Bradford University. Through that course he began his interest in Indochina and spent four years during the 1970s and 1980s helping to resettle the Vietnamese Boat People in the UK. He then obtained his MA in South East Asian Studies from the University of Canterbury. His working career has been based around community involvement both with the London Docklands regeneration and currently with News International Limited. Through his marriage he has lived within the UK Vietnamese community for 28 years. He visits Vietnam on a regular basis and has provided cultural advice to a number of people going to visit, live or work in the region.
